Summer School XRQTC
The Theoretical and Computational Chemisry Summer School of Catalonia is directed by Pere Alemany i Cahner, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Barcelona, at the Phisical Chemistry Department.
The Catalonian Reference Network on Theoretical and Computational Chemistry (XRQTC) organizes this event. It is formed by 19 research groups from University of Barcelona (UB), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Polytechnique University of Catalonia (UPC), University Rovira i Virgili (URV), University of Lleida (UdL), University of Girona (UdG), groups from research institutes (Institute of Material Science of Barcelona, ICMAB and Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia, IQAC),) belonging to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and from the Catalan Institute of Chemistry Research (ICIQ)
XRQTC was recently formalized and fully funded by the Catalan Government in 2006 with the aim of consolidating the extensive theoretical and computational chemistry expertise present throughout the entire region of Catalonia.
Over 200 scientists employ their combined excellence to:
Coordinate new joint projects with the international scientific community
Promote multi-disciplinary research
Apply advanced theoretical and computational methods to solve real problems (in collaboration with industry) and assist in the creation of advanced technologies
